A loose table on microgaming?

Finally found a loose table on microgaming, with three players with a VPIP greater than 60. Usually I end up playing on fairly tight tables on microgaming, and just hope to break even whilst clearing the bonus for pure profit. Unfortunately, even though they were super loose, they were killing me early, showing down some bizarre two pair hands (like TT22) and a few unlikely straights (hole cards like 95o, 45o etc and rivering the gutshot).

I kept at it for about an hour though, and got most of it back on that table, as well as making a small profit on another couple tables. I have to check tonight as to whether i've release another one lot of $50 or two of my bonus money there. I'm hoping two, but I cant remember if I already claimed the first lot.

I also had a massive run of premium starting hands on a 4 handed table, which I couldnt leave straight away as there were two super tight players to my left who were basically handing me their blinds every time, and one fish directly on my right, who was also donating. They eventually started playing back at me, but on this table I won a good 20BBs in a pretty short amount of time. I generally try to avoid 4 handed tables, as the rake becomes a killer as soon as you get too far below 6 players, but in this case I figured it was worth hanging around. I quit as soon as it became 3 handed. It was only a $1/2 game though, so not a huge amount of money involved, but did clear a bunch of raked hands towards my bonus.

Current bankroll: $7,700

I feel you on the massive overload of big cards. According to my demo version of PT, I was dealt AA 12 times tonight, KK 46 times, and AQo a whopping 137 times. I only played for about 4 hours! Freakin nuts! Gotta love Bodog :D

Anywho, how do you multitable? I'm so crappy at it and since I have to play the $0.05/$0.10 limit games, playing one table only wins me about $4 a night =/... almost seems like a waste of time.

That doesnt sound right ... you only get AA 1/220ish hands or KK for that matter. That sounds like its your whole hand history rather than a single session.

My multitable limit is currently only 4 tables, so not really many compared to others. You just gradually add a table when you are comfortable, then add another when you are comfortable with that.

Your win rate at .05/.1 limit poker should only be about 2 BigBets per hour .. maybe 3 or 4 if you are killing it. So single tabling you should only be earning about 40c per hour maximum in the longer term. (plus rakeback on top of that).

i'm making far more from the bonuses / rakeback than the actual play at the moment, running at around 2PTBB/100 (which is fairly high for me).

you just have to be patient with a smaller win rate until you can safely move up stakes.

Does PT work on the microgaming network mate? I play PokerTime sometimes but wasnt aware I could use PT on there.

chasing grinder,

Your bankroll looks good. Good to see things are going well for you. I currently am only playing on stars. If you had to recommend a site to play for bounuses where would it be?

Best of luck,

Mike

No no, no lies. Was all for one session. That happens on bodog. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many times I was dealt pocket 8's today. Was rather ridiculous if you ask me.

R&C ... yep PT2 works fine with microgaming (well at least for ring games). In my version of PT its a little blue M icon up the top for the import.

Microgaming is also the Prima Network I believe - so if it says prima it is microgaming. (sorry i dont have PT on this machine so can't check)

Michael,

For bonuses, I usually go to PSO - follow my link if you like to create an account there. i'd appreciate the referral! :)

Which sites you choose will depend significantly on whether you live in the US or not as US citizens are severely limited in which sites they can play on.

Generally on pokersourceonline I choose the PSO points as my free gift, and once I earn them cash them out into a poker room gift voucher. (effectively cash)

If i were just starting and didnt have accounts with Party or Pokerroom (and wasn't from the US), i'd probably do those promotions first. (particularly party which doesnt have any possible rakeback, and secondly party also occasionally gives out free money).

I probably wouldnt do a bonus with fulltilt or any others that potentially pay rakeback that I want to play on longterm in future because signing up for the PSO bonus might stop you from getting rakeback later.

If you are from the US and/or want to play fulltilt with rakeback, feel free to sign up under my raketherake link. You will get 27% rakeback, as well as be entitled to the sign up bonus.

Cake is also quite good from raketherake if you want rakeback, and their bonuses are generally not bad either.

Hmm thats a big post. Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers

Ahhh Im trying out PT3 and I didnt see anything that indicated microgaming was supported...maybe it isnt yet.

Chasing Grinder,

Thank you for your lengthy reply, much apprieciated. Unfortunately I am from the U.S so I do have limitations regarding the sites I can play on. If I decide to focus on so bonuses as a strategy to build my bankroll I will definitly check out:

http://www.pokersourceonline.com/?rc=bort88

Its tough for me to decide if its worth it. I only play on Stars right now, and I don't have enough time to play as it is. I figure its almost worth it to just build FPP's on one site. I figure I eventually use them to qualify for the Sunday Million anyway.

Have a good day!
