New bonus site

Okay my new bonus site actually paid out, so i'm reasonably confident with them!

I signed up with rakeaway:

http://www.rakeaway.com/?ref=snaffle22

I did the Everest bonus and Pokertime bonus through them and was successfully paid out. (They both cleared extremely quickly!!)

And did a couple of their bonuses that are actually through Regalos Poker. Thing is, rakeaway actually gives you an additional bonus on top of the Regalos Poker cash bonus, so its definitely worth using rakeaway for Regalos bonuses.

The other bonuses, well, I will either go through rakeaway, or through the people i've already signed up through if i'm already signed up on their referring site, as there doesn't seem to be any additional bonuses.

It is a very good site though, possibly the best i've found for comparing bonuses, and clearance rates, so i'd highly recommend taking a look.

Anyways if you're interested please use my referal link :)

Also bear in mind that you don't want to use the one off bonus deals on sites where you are likely to want to play on long term and are better off with rakeback. I'd still recommend raketherake for all your long term deals, as well as rakebackstat if you're interested in Bodog. (Links on right)

I found an error with Rakebackstat the other day, which was actually a Bodog error, and Rakebackstat still gave me a credit of $10 just for finding the error. Kudos to their customer service. They also report daily stats which is handy.

I'm off on holiday so i'll catch everyone again in a week's time when i'm back and at the tables.

Cheers all!

August 2008 Summary

Hmmm .. what a month.... just couldnt seem to string several winning sessions together but suffered some huge downswings.

Overall increased my bankroll by $350, but it could easily have been negative for the month if it wasn't for the last few sessions. As Tim points out I also played my first accidental session of NL cash games, where I managed to win one very nice pot.

(Including today where I played for all of 15 minutes, and won one 20BB hand on a $4/8 Bodog table with my Pocket kings holding up 4 ways to the river (capped preflop). Some idiot then decided to slowplay using their entire timer every action, so I quit the table next orbit.

The gain of $350 for the month was made up of:

Bonuses/VIP: $640

William Hill: $50 for 5 hours play bonus
Cake: $60 reload bonus
PSO ultimate bet: $120
New site bonuses (refer next post): $200
Bodog: $10
Party: $200

Rakeback: $170

William Hill: $10
Cake: $40
Bodog: $10
Fulltilt: $110

Poker winnings / (losses): ($460) Ouch - another loss

For August the goals in order of priority are:
  • Play my 5 hours on William Hill for the $50 bonus
  • Clear my last reload of $60 on cake
  • Maybe find a new site to play on and score some new bonuses
  • Would be nice to actually win from play :)

Cake payin me back quickly

At least i'm making up some more of my losses on Cake.

The $2/4 and $3/6 tables there donated another 30 or so BBs in total within a couple hours, so i'm gradually clawing my way back up.

Not a hugely interesting session though. I was hitting my cards reasonably often, but probably not more than my fair share. Had a fairly cool run on one table where my VPIP was down to 15% over 100 hands. I still actually ended even on the table though which is quite handy, so would have cleared a bit of bonus and earned some rakeback there as well at worst.

Also upgraded my Pokertracker so microgaming is now importing correctly again. Havent actually played there apart from one orbit though.

Probably wont get much in on the weekend and i'm going away for most of next week, so there wont be too much pokers.

Well at least i'm back up over the $11k mark, and only $100 short of my peak which I dramatically fell off only a few days ago.

Good luck all. Will write again after the weekend.

Winning 100BBs in two hours

Kinda sux that it wasn't at $3/6 .. but a mixture of $2/4 and $1/2 .. but anyways...

Was playing my Everest bonus as I have just signed up there as well as a bit of bodog $1/2 and a few hands of $4/8 but the juicy tables kept breaking up. Boy are there some fish on Everest!! I think in my 350 hands so far i'm running at a super hot 18BB/100 ... I didn't actually play any different from my previous session, just instead of missing every flop and getting sucked out on, my hands actually held up, and I even hit a draw or 2.

Anyways. Here's an example of some of the opponents on Everest:

Hero in co Card dealt to a spot Th8h
Hero raise $8
NORAA call $6
chiapas call $4

Flop: AcQs8s .... hmmm might bet out to see if i can steal this one although not the nicest of flops

NORAA check
chiapas check
Hero raise $4

NORAA call (damn .. well might try to show this down cheap now. wont fire another bullet on that board with him calling and not closing the action)
chiapas fold (well at least one out)

Turn: 2c

NORAA check
Hero check (dont want to get check raised here. do want to showdown my pair)

River: Ad (hmm maybe my pair is good)

NORAA check
Hero check

NORAA shows AQ for a full house .... (way to get value out of that!!!)

How to lose 100BBs in 2 hours

Short story: run like ass

Slightly longer story:
  1. Sit down at a couple $3/6 6max tables which contain 1 maniac and at least 2 big fish each.
  2. Hit quite a few starting hands, so have a vpip of just over 30%
  3. Dont hit too many flops or turns.
  4. Have a went to showdown an extremely low 21% over 2 hours!!!
  5. Every suck out and runner runner draw must hit against you by the river
  6. You must never hit any draws at all
  7. Your W$SD needs to be around 12%
  8. (In my case I won 3 showdowns in 2 hours .....)
  9. Say goodbye to 100BBs

Single worst hand was a $150 pot. I pick up AA. Preflop betting is capped 3 ways. Flop is A62r. Sweet. Post flop betting is capped! Turn is a T. Turn betting is almost capped i think. maybe 3 bet. River is a 9. I bet out and get raised. Now here i'm thinking well .. there's no flush draw on the board. I have top set. The only possible way I can lose is if someone has 87 who called 3 bets preflop, and then a capped flop bet with only a backdoor straight draw..... Of course muppet shows down 87o .. wtf!!!

Current Bankroll: $10,750 ... ARGH

UB bonus cleared .. and a better session

Was off work sick today and got in about 3 hours of play, starting the day by finishing my UB bonus just 2 tabling for about an hour.

The rest of the time I was playing on Cake playing $3/6 and $2/4 and a bit on microgaming at $2/4 but they have screwed up their software for the moment resulting in no hand histories, and therefore no Pokertracker.

Manual notes here we go again .....

That actually seemed to suit me, as I managed to win a solid 50BBs in the 3 hours, as well as clearing the $125 bonus. Should have also earnt a bit of rakeback on cake as well come to think of it.

A quick check of my stats on UB, where I showed a loss of $18 in the time it took to clear my bonus:
  • Hands 559
  • VPIP 27.19 ... hmm a bit low .. must not have got too many starting hands. Although actually i think i was next to a maniac for a bit too.
  • WTSD 34% .. hmm a bit low .. i guess i didnt hit my hands too often. Annoying.
  • W$SD 53.57% ... about right.
For my new bonus i'm also over half way through, so will see if that one pays out, as that should also be a decent bankroll boost. At least this month is looking a little better now!

A handy little session

Didn't actually get much time to play poker on the weekend, and in the hour that I got in to play, there were very few tables open worth actually playing on.

For my ultimate bet bonus, there were exactly 0 tables open at the stakes that I wanted, so that cut that out. Cake had one table open at the $3/6 level and no other tables worth considering.

I decided to sign up for another bonus as well. Will see how that goes and if the affiliate actually pays out before mentioning it on here though. That being said, their site had exactly 0 tables running between $1/2 and $4/8 at the time I signed up as well. (That's where my previous post happened though, where I accidently played an orbit of NL400 instead of limit $2/4).

Anyways, the Cake table turned out to be superb. A couple of decent fish, and every time I had a hand it seemed any othe LAG/TAG would also have a hand, but a slightly weaker one. Finally cracked the $11,000 mark where I ended the session, so things are starting to look a little better.

I also cashed out another $2,000 the other day, as i'd rather have the money earning interest than sitting in a poker or neteller account.

Since my hands were at Cake I dont have any history to post but there were some great fishy plays by my opponents, and one LAG/TAG who decided to raise every street whilst holding 62o versus my top pair. TY.

Hopefully will do some more UB and clear my new bonus this week though, or at least on the weekend.
