Started the day feeling crook so too the day off work. Thought i'd probably get in a bit of poker but had a massive headache so couldn't play for too long at a time. That being said, probably put in about two hours in total.
Turned out to be a reasonably profitable two hours, as I cleared my Interpoker sign up bonus for the remaining approx $200, and also received my monthly Bodog reload for $70.
Found a couple sweet $3/6 tables on Cake where I had position on at least one fish and on one table two fish. I'd made about 12BBs on each in one orbit, and then to my disappointment, both of the fish quit ... so I played all of two orbits before quitting. The $2/4 tables on Interpoker were also a little kinder to me than they have been in the past, and I would have made at least another 10BBs there by the time i'd cleared my bonus. It was a little problematic there though in that I couldn't seem to find any good tables or if I did, i'd have a horrible position, so was quitting after a single orbit and just waiting for better spots a lot of the time.
I guess patience really is the key for table selection, and I refuse to play where I have bad position these days. Its just not worth it.
The Bodog $1/2 tables were also running better than usual and I made about 30BBs in reasonably quick time. The fish didn't quite suck out as often, although did suffer a number of nasty beats from one guy who hit a 2 and 3 outer two hands in a row when I was holding the near nuts. He was then kind enough to cap the river against me holding nuts to give most of it back which was nice of him. (I had the A on a 4 flush board that wasn't paired ... although there was the potential for an unlikely straight flush).
Sometimes I am a muppet though - got an email from cake about a reload so tried to deposit. Got a message back saying that the code wasn't available yet. I guess they sent the email a little early .... Anyways, I again signed up later, and this time it went through, only i'd forgotten to change the deposit amount. So instead of a $100 reload bonus, I earned myself a princely reload bonus of $12.50. I blame the fact that my head was killin me which clouded my thinking ability ... (although probably it was just coz i'm an idiot). I hope they have a christmas reload as well and then I wouldn't have lost anything ....

Cake reload
Well it took a month of prayer, and Cake have come through with the goods in their halloween reload. Pity they charge a fairly hefty deposit fee against your MGR, but its still significantly EV+
Only got in a couple hours play in total over the weekend, and it started poorly when Bodog decided to keep on smashing me at the $1/2 tables. I had one table which had 65% of players seeing the flop, and managed to drop 40BBs in 120 hands. Ugly.
Also found a nice Interpoker table with two huge fish who had VPIPs of 90%. They also managed to suck out about 15BBs from me early, before the table fell to 3 handed. At this point i'd normally leave, but these two guys were obviously extremely loose, but were also very passive. They allowed me to take back all my losses and then gain about 10BBs through basic aggressive play when ever I hit hands.
I also had a couple Cake tables open although very few were running. One table was a $1/2 table where a two fish seemed to be eating me alive and I dropped another 20BBs. The other table was a $3/6 table with an average of 71% of players seeing the flop. Basically every flop was at least 4 ways, so obviously you had to hit your hand reasonably hard for it to hold up. I fluctuated a fair bit there before leaving a bit over 5BBs up when my nut flush draw hit, after my previous 4 had managed to miss in huge pots. Still .. it cleared some bonus points very quickly and would have earned me some reasonable rakeback.

Only had another smallish session, maybe a bit under one hour on Bodog/William Hill as I continue to clear my reload and time bonus.
Didn't have too many interesting hands - just the usual horrendous beat with someone hitting their 2 outer here and there, and me missing a bunch of draws before finally hitting about 3 in a row.
Anyways, I finally have hit quad aces. Interestingly it was a blind battle with me holding A9o in the sb, obviously raising preflop in an attempt to steal. Flop was AA6, which I bet and he called. Well, I should be off on holidays now, but my girlfriend is too sick to fly with an ear infection.
What does that mean for my poker ... well i'll probably get in a few hours, but as soon as she's okay we'll take off.
Anyways, since I dont know exactly when i'm going I wont start any new deals. So I will do a bit of Cake and Bodog to clear their reloads, and maybe a bit of fulltilt for pure rackback, as well as getting around to William Hill sooner or later for the 5 hours that I must do there every month.

Cake reload
I dunno, it seems cake have me set up on some sort of deal where they make a new reload offer every time I clear the last bonus. I think I received my email within about 8 hours of clearing my last bonus $. The other good thing is they give you 3 months to clear it and it releases in $10 blocks.
Guess i cant really complain - cheers cake :)
And if anyone is thinking of signing up there, i'd recommend going through raketherake for the additional freeroll as well as rakeback and sign up bonus. As always hit the link on the right!
Its often a quite fishy site, mainly due to the fact that Pokertracker is not allowed. I have to rely on my own notes and reads there. Has been quite profitable though!

Software
Thought i'd just start this entry with my current software that I use for poker (where sites allow it).
I currently utilise Pokertracker for all my statistics recording, and Gametime+ for a HUD. I'm debating switching to Pokerace, as i've found that Gametime+ needs at least an orbit for you to run it, whereas pokerace will come up straight away ... any thoughts out there?
I find Pokertracker to be vital in both analysing my own game, and then in feeding the HUD to view other players' styles, and to select my seat at the table - or whether to even play on a table in the first place if its too tight! (but that can be another blog entry)

So far playing 6max limit holdem my key stats per pokertracker show
- a VPIP of around 28
- PFR 20
- AF 2
- WTSD 40%
- W$SD 51%
I'm currently pretty happy with my VPIP (voluntarily put in pot) where I loosely utilise the Stoxtrader guidelines, with some adjustments for opponents. I think I can comfortably say i'm happy with a preflop raise of 20% and an aggression factor of 2. For my went to show down, I suspect 40% is a little bit too high, and i'd like that to read closer to 38 or 39%, which should also increase my win $ at show down %.
As far as poker playing goes, I think i've done about 8 hours or so since my last blog (I had the day off work yesterday - but also had to keep my new kitten under control). It started poorly, as I dropped a quick $80 the day after my last post. I then proceeded to have a shocking run of bad beats, which included
- Twice having the nut flush only for the board to pair on the river to lose to a full house
- 3 times having the top pair or better, only to have a gutshot hit my opponent on the river
- 3 times having AK with the flop including an A against AX where X is less than 10 and X hitting again on the river
- Twice having the nut straight only for a flush to hit on the river
Having said that, I also received a Party poker reload, which I only took up for $15 (15% at 8x points), where i quickly proceeded to have a super hot run of hitting every flop on a super soft table with people calling me down and making $150 in about 15 mins on 2/4. I also noticed in my email today another one from Party offering a $60 bonus, so i'll have to see what kinda deal I get there, and might end up taking that one up too.
On the bonus front, i've got 3 hours to go on William Hill to finish that for the month, 150 more MPPs on Sun Poker to clear $150, and i've still got a heap on Cake left to clear within the next 20 days or so. The supersoft games on party are tempting as well though ....
I also played the William Hill RTR freeroll yesterday, and managed to crash and burn. Overplayed a middle pair, and then ran supercold eventually having to push with A6s .. oh well.
